Wordpress - stripping

Hey,

I was just googling' for at way to strip wordpress of anything but the posting-system, and found this post: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/158711
I can't be certain that user is you, but clicking on the name linked me here...

Anyhow, I would really like to know how you managed to read the database from wordpress in a nice way, since I'm currently creating a website to replace my wordpress blog. All I really want is for my old posts from wordpress (and the ones to come) to show up on my new website.
