How do you stop your WordPress blog from being pinged temporarily?

I have to post about 4 quick posts within a few minutes and I don't want to hit pingomatic 4 times. So, if I change the privacy settings to private while I post three of the posts, that will stop the pingomatic hits, right? Then, if I change the privacy settings to public, and then publish the fourth post, that post and the previous three posts will be sent to pingomatic, right?
